The Family Foundation School
The Family Foundation School (FFS) is a therapeutic boarding school located in Hancock, New York. The mission of the school is:
“To heal families, build character and change lives by providing an integrated program of academics, therapeutic counseling, experiential therapy, and 12-Step living to at-risk teens, helping them safely through the crises of adolescence toward responsible adulthood.” [1]
Program of the Family Foundation School
The Family Foundation School accepts students on a rolling admissions schedule based on the needs of the student. Students that are of high school age (grades 9-12) that have problems with addictions (e.g. drugs, alcohol, food, sex, gambling or gaming) and/or other psychological challenges comprise the student body. The school provides a therapeutic milieu based on a twelve-step approach for such troubled teen girls and boys. Group and individual counseling are also provided. Students work toward their high school graduation while receiving support for the various behavioral issues that prompted enrollment.
