Joe Barbiere, Head of the Kitchen and long-time staff member has decided to retire from The Family Foundation School. Joe Barbiere started to work at The Family School on March 2, 2000 in the kitchen where he has worked for 10 years. “It’s time, I want to retire” Joe said. At 66 years old, Joe wants to make room for a younger person to fill his shoes.

Joe is going to miss The Family School. He will miss the staff, students and all of the friends he has made working over the years. Joe will also miss the administration. “I was treated with the utmost respect and it was a pleasure working for them.”  Joe validated.

After Joe retires he plans on doing a whole lot of hunting and fishing. He also wants to do some traveling. A large part of his decision to retire is to be able to visit his daughter and grandchildren in Texas. He plans on getting to Texas a few more times a year than he has in past years to spend more time with his family.

Joe plans to retire at the end of March. After he retires, he leaves the Kitchen in the hand of Bill Cordts. “Bill is capable. The kitchen is in good hands with him,” Joe affirmed. Joe trusts that Bill will continue to run the kitchen as he did for the past 10 years.

Joe will be missed by all staff and students.
