Picnics, softball games, fishing, hiking, roller coasters and many home visits. Break week gives students and staff a chance to take a breather, enjoy a variety of planned recreation activities together, dig into some program work and find some quiet time for reflection and meditation.
The principles of recovery are meant to bring an improved quality of life to our daily activities, including serenity and peace of mind to meet life on life’s terms. Break week gives us a great chance to get a read on our progress. Many times students can see clearly the change in their overall attitude from one break week to the next. Likewise, the break in the regular rhythm of the semester often reveals to students where they still need to do more work.
